I’m Patrick Shaw, the building designer behind Be Shaw Drafting. I’m based in Redhead and work with clients across the Hunter, Central Coast and Port Stephens Areas.
I started in the trade as a carpenter and have two decades of experience in the construction industry. That hands-on background shapes everything I do. When I look at a design, I’m not just thinking about how it looks on the page. I’m thinking about how it gets built, what it’ll cost, and where the practical problems are likely to show up. It’s a perspective you can’t get from a drafting table alone.
After nearly a decade of designing for others, I started Be Shaw Drafting to build something of my own and work directly with clients one-on-one.
What I enjoy most is the client side of the work. Helping someone work through what they want, then watching a design come together that genuinely fits the way they live, whether that’s a new home or a smarter layout for the one they’ve got. That part doesn’t get old.
